IND vs AUS: Hardik Pandya dropped, Ravindra Jadeja is back


India's popular all-rounder Hardik Pandya was dropped from the home series against Australia. Hardik was ruled out from the team after he made controversial statements on Koffee With Karan season 6. This time the BCCI has made a media release saying that the 26-year-old crickter is suffering from lower back stiffness. Ravindra Jadeja has been recalled to replace Pandya in the ODI squad but no adjustments were made in the T20 team.


BCCI also added, "The BCCI Medical team decided to rest the all-rounder and let him undergo strength and conditioning work for his lower back at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Mr. Pandya will begin his strength work from next week." Looks like Hardik will undergo a strength and conditioning training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

The statement mentioned, "The T20I squad will now consist of 14 members. Mr. Ravindra Jadeja has been named as the replacement for Hardik Pandya for the 5 ODIs."  In his absence, Vijay Shankar will be the sole bowling all-rounder in India's 14-member T20 squad.

India will play their first match against Australia on February 24, 2019. The T20 match will take place in Vishakhapatnam. The series consists of two T20s and fice ODIs.
