The International Cricket Council (ICC) has assured the Board Of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that the security of the players will be dealt with ably. India's security concerns will be addressed during the upcoming World Cup 2019 considering the wake of the Pulwama terror attack. At the start of the ICC chief Executives Committee (CEC) meeting. BCCI CEO Rahul Johri expressed concerns about the security of the players in this much coveted event which is scheduled to begin May 30, 2019.

A senior BCCI official said, "On behalf of the BCCI, Rahul Johri raised concerns for the safety and security of the Indian team, match officials and the Indian Fans, at the CEC Meeting." The official added, "The ICC CEO David Richardson assured the BCCI that the ICC will ensure that everything is done to address the concerns raised." It is learnt that Johri told CEC that BCCI believes in the security planned by the ICC and the England Cricket Board.
