Gully Boy trailer starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in lead roles is quite captivating. Ranveer is playing a rapper from the streets of Mumbai. His performance is quite engaging.
The trailer stars Ranveer Singh as the man who raps to express his feelings. He was born into a less privileged family with an under privileged life where is is constantly reminded that he cannot rise above his current economic and social status. He still keeps faith and believes 'apna time aayega' (that this time will come). It looks like Ranveer really got into the skin of any character of a rapper who belongs to the streets of Mumbai.
Alia Bhatt plays Ranveer's love interest who supports him in his journey to becoming who he wants to be. It seems like she is studying to be a doctor while she is also hot headed who cannot control her instincts. Kalki Koechlin also plays a significant role in the film.
Zoya Akhtar who made her directorial debut with Luck by chance, has directed Gully Boy. She is known for a picturesque locations where her characters deal with first world issues. With Gully boy it looks like she doesn't require European locations to make her movies work.
