In the times where remakes are popular, remaking a cult classic like Andaz Apna Apna can be tricky! This is the precise reason why producers Vinay and Priti Sinha have a different plan for the remake of this particular classic film. Reports suggest that Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan to play Prem and AMar but as different characters, in a different story. The original film has Salman Khan and Aamir Khan played the lead characters Prem and Amar.
The producers Vinay and Priti Sinha are planning to make a different angle rather than the usual format of sequel or remake. Rajkumar Santoshi will not be directing this film. The original film starred Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor was a cult film. Messing with the original will not bode well with the audience. Hence, the choice of director is yet to be finalised.
Ranveer and Varun, have been approached for their comic flair to play Amar and Prem. They will be happy-go-lucky characters but with some difference to the characters of the 1994 classic. Varun and Ranveer are friends off screen and knowing their energy, they will be able to carry the roles with ease.
Rumours suggests that the iconic character Crime Master Gogo (played by Shakti Kapoor) will make a comeback with a contemporary actor. This character will be more stylish and modern to fit 2019 criteria. The film makers are planning to set the film in 2019 and promise to make it a LOL comedy.
