Alia pays double price to acquire a new home in Juhu!


Alia Bhatt has reached a phase in her career where all her films have turned out to be back to back blockbusters. The actress doesn't mind walking an extra mile to achieve her dreams. She has also made heavy investments in real estate that come to people as a surprise.

Reportedly, Alia brought herself a new space in Juhu's posh locality. And she paid almost double the amount to make sure that this flat belongs only to her. Alia purchased a 2,300 square feet apartment in posh locality of Juhu a couple of days ago. She paid a whopping Rs 13.11 crore while the market rate of the property happens to be Rs 7.86 crore.

Since she paid a higher rate than the reckoner rate (the rates that the state government for residential or commercial properties) for the flat, she also had to pay the stamp duty according to the new price. Reportedly, she paid a stamp duty of Rs 65.55 lakh for her new space in Juhu.

It is interesting to know that Alia already owns two houses in Juhu. It comes as no surprise that Alia ended up paying higher than the ready reckoner rate and also coughed up a hefty stamp duty for these properties. The Gully Boy actress has bought two properties on the second floor for Rs 5.16 crore and Rs 3.83 crore.

On the professional front, Alia is busy promoting her upcoming project Gully Boy directed by Ranveer Singh. She recently wrapped up Kalank with Varun Dhawan. She is also shooting for Ayan Mukherji's Brahmastra with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles. Alia has also signed Karan Johar's ambitious project Takht which is set to feature Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. She is also set to feature in her father's film Sadak 2.
