After months and months of speculation, good news has been served. Shah Rukh Khan has been confirmed to star in 'Saare Jahaan Se Achcha'. Ronnie Screwvala, one of the producers confirmed the news. Others producers include Siddharth Roy Kapur and Mahesh Mathai.
'Saare Jahaan Se Achcha' is the story of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma. Rumours suggested that this script was first offered to Aamir Khan who rejected it. When Aamir was considering to do the film Priyanka Chopra was to be cast opposite him. PC confirmed that she was talking to the makers but she wasn't aware of the status of the film after Aamir's departure.
Now that the lead has been confirmed, the talk regarding the female lead has spiked interest. Names like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukherji and Bhumi Pednekar have been mentioned for the role of Rakesh Sharma's wife. The word is the character is not meaty enough.
SRK is currently busy with the post production of his film 'Zero' in which he plays a dwarf who aspires to meet a bollywood actress played by Katrina Kaif. The movie also stars Anushka Sharma along with a few cameos of R Madhavan and Abhay Deol. 'Zero' is set to release on December 21st. It is believed that SRK will jump to 'Saare Jahaan Se Achcha' right after 'Zero' is released.
