Uri enters Rs 200 crore club, Vicky Kaushal's film gets nod from VP Venkaiah Naidu


The josh of Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The surgical Strike doesn't seem to die down. The film is definitely doing well at the box office and the film has been getting nods of approval from many unconventional routes too. India's Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu held a special screening on Tuesday evening where he saw the film. The screening was also attended by some soldiers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel.

Mr Naidu tweeted from his official Twitter handle. He posted pictures of the screening with a caption. The caption read, "Happy to have watched the movie ‘Uri-Surgical Strikes’ today along with Indo-Tibetan Border Police Personnel who guard the Vice President’s Residence in New Delhi. It was an inspiring movie. I congratulate the cast & crew of #Urimovie for showcasing the valour of #IndianArmy."


Meanwhile, the film has entered the Rs 200 crore club in worldwide collections. Reportedly, the film has done business of Rs 223.97 crores worldwide. The report suggested that the film has grossed Rs 200.97 crore in India and Rs 23 crore in the international circuits. It is expected to enter the Rs 250 crore by the end of its fourth weekend at the global market.

Uri is a fictional retelling of the Indian Army's retaliation against perpetrators of the attack on unarmed terrorists in Jammu Kashmir. The film is made by his debutant director Adutya Dhar stars Vicky Kaushal as an army major who leads the strikes. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Swaroop Sampat, Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari in prominent roles.
